Melinda started her career as a massage therapist in l981 and opened the Full Moon Healing Art Center in Marin County. She began her study of Tai Chi and Taoist meditation in 1986 and in 1992 started an oriental medicine apprenticeship, receiving her license to practice acupuncture in 2000.
Melinda moved to Annapolis in 2001 with her husband Karl Danskin, a Chi Kung/ Tai Chi teacher and Virtuous Meeting consultant. She continued to practice in Marin three days a week. After a few years, she closed the Full Moon Healing Art Center in order to begin a practice in the Annapolis/Sea Ranch area. It took about two years to find a place for a clinic. During this time she began a vegetable garden, started a goat herd, and worked on developing the off the grid forest property where she and Karl live.
The Birdsong Clinic & Tea Shop opened in 2008. Melinda offers acupuncture sessions and massage therapy. Her practice is hands on, relying on pulse taking and conversation with her clients to create treatments. Her sessions use primarily acupuncture and oriental medicine modalities along with bodywork and some herbal and lifestyle suggestions. Personal Chi Kung and meditation lessons are available for interested clients.
